(MENAFN - Arab Times) The Farwaniya police are looking for three Pakistanis for robbing a compatriot under threat, reports Al-Rai daily.

A police source said the complainant told the Khaitan Police Station the three men beat and him and stole KD 300 and his cell phone after threatening to kill him.

The complainant also said earlier he was involved in a dispute with the three compatriots.

Meanwhile, police have arrested a four-man gang for breaking into and stealing valuables from cars parked in the parking lot of a commercial complex in Farwaniya, reports Al-Rai daily.

The arrest came following complaints by several people. One complainant said the four men posed as policemen after he parked his car and walked his way to a shopping mall. As the 'police officer' kept him busy with interrogation, the other three broke into his vehicle and robbed valuables.

Police then intensified their efforts, particularly in areas where the theft had occurred and saw three men in a car following an unidentified woman. After she parked her car and went to a commercial complex, the two of them headed straight to her car while the third followed the woman to keep a watch on her movements.

The two men then broke the side glass of her vehicle and stole valuables. Police kept a tab on them and took them in custody after they were joined by the third man.

During interrogation the trio has admitted to committing 12 thefts. They later guided police to their fourth accomplice whose job was to sell the stolen goods.

The thieves have been referred to the authorities.

In another story, police have arrested a bedoun woman for attempting to leave the country using the passport of an unidentified GCC woman, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, female immigration officers at the Salmi border post suspected the woman who was wearing a veil and discovered the passport she was carrying did not belong her.

During interrogation the bedoun said she wanted to enter a GCC country on this document to legalize her status.
