Qatar- Al Sada Calls for Establishing Arab Entity for Renewable Energy


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) HE The Minister of Energy and Industry, Dr Mohamed Bin Saleh Al Sada called on Monday for a establishing an Arab entity to be entrusted with development of renewable energy sources. In statements on the fringes of the 4th General Conference of the Arab Union of Electricity which started in Doha on Monday, he also called for intensifying government and private sector efforts in the sector because of the rising needs of the Arab area. He said the Arab area could make use of available technology in the sector, noting that the conference provides an opportunity to tackle the challenges facing the Arab countries in the electricity field. The conference , he added , is prioritizing renewable energy as a source for power generation, pointing out that Qatar was a leader in the field and has taken executive steps to utilize technology in power generation from renewable sources.
