Kuwait- MP slams decision to refer killer officer for mental test

(MENAFN- Arab Times) MP Khalid Al- Shulaimi says he wonders why a military officer, who was accused of murdering his colleague, was referred to Psychiatric Hospital to check his psychological condition, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Al-Shulaimi warned First Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmad Al-Humoud and Minister of Health Mohammed Al-Haifi against issuing a report that would help the murderer dodge the penalty he deserves. "I will make the Minister of Interior ascend the grilling podium if a report is issued to acquit the culprit because the crime was committed in Qadsiya Police Station to which he was affiliated", stressed Al-Shulaimi. Meanwhile, Al-Shulaimi indicated that the Minister of Finance Mustafa Al-Shimali is against the Kuwaiti nation and his return to the new Cabinet is a mistake, as he is the source of the current escalation in the Cabinet and the National Assembly, stressing he will grill the Minister of Finance if the loans case is not solved. He said the boycotters made a mistake by not running in the parliamentary elections, because the decree of 'one-vote' is constitutionally acceptable, stressing this system ensures justice among voters and candidates. In another development, sources revealed that four parliamentary committees will meet on Sunday in the parliament to discuss a number of important issues, reports Al- Jaridah daily. They said the Human Rights Committee will hold a meeting at 9:00 am to discuss the Bedoun issue in the presence of the Chairman of Central System for Remedying Status of Illegal Residents Saleh Al-Fadhala. Besides, the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee will hold its meeting at 10:00 am to resume discussions on the decree 22/2012 for modifying law 6/2008 regarding the privatization of Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) in the presence of Minister of Communications and State Minister for Housing Affairs Salem Al-Utheina and representatives of KAC. Furthermore, the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee will hold its meeting at 11:00am to discuss Public Prosecution's demand to lift MP Nawaf Al- Feza's parliamentary immunity due to his involvement in an audio-visual case, as well as highlight other cases in the presence of First Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmad Al-Humoud, and Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Shareeda Al-Muosherji.
