Kuwait- Organizers bid citizens through Net to attend Sunday rally


(MENAFN- Arab Times) First Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmad Al-Humoud says he will attend the Thursday session which is allotted for discussions on the security of the country, adding his replies will depend on the questions and inquiries posed by the lawmakers during the session, reports Al-Jaridah daily. Regarding the way the Ministry of Interior is going to deal with the rally of 'Nation's Dignity' on Sunday, Al- Humoud said the ministry will deal with it the same way it deals with any unlicensed rally, while it dealt calmly with the previous licensed rallies. Meanwhile, MP Yacoub Al-Sane' said a coordinative meeting will be held before the Thursday session to agree on the commendations that will be submitted during the session. He indicated that he is the first MP to call for a secret parliamentary session because many sensitive points will be highlighted during the discussion of the security issue, which cannot be publicized freely, adding that the Ministry of Interior has to reveal the security strategy it will apply. Furthermore, Secretary of Parliamentary Interior and Defense Committee MP Abdullah Al-Tamimi said the committee will discuss several points during the session to which the minister has to give reassuring answers regarding the security of the country. He confirmed that he supported the idea of holding a secret session in order to enable the minister to pose his vision and opinions. Moreover, MP Mubarak Al-Orf said he supports in principle the idea of holding Thursday session publicly but he has no objection if the government clarified the need for holding it secretly. He indicated that all lawmakers agree at the importance of achieving the key laws, which the Kuwaiti nation is eager about, as they were shelved for many years in the parliament's drawers. Priorities He revealed that most parliamentary committees are interested in identifying their priorities of the coming six months, which Parliament Speaker Ali Al- Rashid asked them to fulfill, stressing the lawmakers are keen on returning the favor of the Kuwaiti voters who selected them as their representatives in the National Assembly. On the other hand, MP Safa Al-Hashim refused to hold Thursday session secretly, stressing that citizens have the right to listen and judge the discussions on the security unrest. Furthermore, the organizers of 'Nation's Dignity' bid citizens through Internet to participate in the rally on Sunday at 8:00pm. They revealed three locations from where the rally could be launched, which are the parking area of 'Arabian Club' in Mansouriya opposite Qadsiya on Second Ring Road, the parking area of 'Direct Aid Society' next to Plaza Complex in Hawally opposite Qadsiya on Third Ring Road, and the parking area of 'Kuwait Club' in Kaifan on Pepsi Cola Street opposite Shuwaikh Residential Area. They stressed that the chosen point for launching the rally will be announced half an hour before the rally.
