Hyundai to take back 2,864 Veloster units from Chinese market


(MENAFN) China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine stated that starting the 15th of the current month, Hyundai Motor Group (China) Ltd. will recall a number of its imported Veloster cars in the Asian country, reported Xinhua News. The recall covers 2 batches of the model, comprising 2,408 units produced between April 13, 2011 and February 25, 2012, in addition to 456 cars manufactured between November 1, 2011 and April 17, 2012. It added that the first batch comprises sealing rings for the brakes not properly working and could result in ineffective braking and noise while driving. Meanwhile, regarding the second batch, the vehicles' sunroof skylight glass is vulnerable to impacts, and it might break when the car stops or moves. According to the administration, the producers will substitute defective parts for the recalled units.
