Kuwaiti Citizen, Two Arab Expats Held With Drugs


(MENAFN- Arab Times) A Kuwaiti citizen and two Arab expatriates were arrested recently for possession of 2.5 kilograms of drugs, some intoxicants and cigarettes filled with hashish. According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, when the Directorate General for Drug Control received information about drug trafficking by the suspects, a team was formed for investigations. After observing the suspects and confirming the tipoff, securitymen took necessary legal measures and rushed to the apartment of the first suspect where they found him with the second suspect. After searching the apartment, securitymen found 1.5 kilograms of hashish, some intoxicants and cigarettes filled with hashish. They arrested the two suspects and during interrogations, the first suspect confessed that he obtained the drugs from his friend (the third suspect) and guided securitymen to his apartment. Securitymen arrested the third suspect and checked his apartment to find 1 kilogram of hashish and some intoxicants. The third suspect confessed that he was the main source of these drugs. The suspects were referred with the items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them. In another incident, two Kuwaiti citizens were arrested recently for consumption and possession of alcohol and drugs. According to security sources, while securitymen were patrolling Riggae, they noticed an individual driving his vehicle in the opposite direction of a one-way road. As soon as he noticed the patrol vehicle, he sped away and did not stop when securitymen ordered him to do so. Securitymen chased the suspects down Fifth Ring Road all the way from Riggae to Mubarak Al-Kabeer where the driver stopped after crashing into a pavement. Securitymen immediately arrested the driver of the vehicle and his passenger and discovered they are both Kuwaiti citizens. Detecting the smell of alcohol from them, securitymen checked the vehicle and found a bottle of imported liquor, some drugs and drug-intake equipments. The suspects were referred with the items to the Directorate General for Drug Control for necessary legal action against them.
