Dubai launches world's first A380 facility

(MENAFN) Dubai Airports' CEO, Paul Griffiths, stated that Dubai International's Terminal 3 saw the launch of its Concourse A, the first A380 facility in the world, reported Arabian Business. Griffiths said that 4 of the airport's 20 contact gates were brought into operation, adding that Concourse A will be opened in stages, with more gates to be lunched in each consecutive phase. The concourse spans over an area of 528,000 sq m across 11 floors, and is part of the Terminal 3 complex established for the use of Emirates airline. The concourse has an annual capacity to handle 15 million passengers, thus, when fully operational, it will bring Dubai International's passenger capacity to 75 million a year from 60 million.
