PetroChina Daqing Oilfield's 2012 output reaches 40m tons

(MENAFN) The China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) stated that in 2012, crude oil output of PetroChina Daqing Oilfield reached 40 million tons, reported Xinhua News. The parent company of PetroChina said that this was the 10th consecutive year in which the field's production reaches 40 million tons and more. During the 12th 4-year plan period (2011-2015), the oil field, discovered in 1959, is expected to secure annual crude oil output of 40 million tons. The field also produced 3.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2012, and added 55.35 million tons of proven oil reserves. In the past, the oil field's annual output surpassed 50 million tons, however, it declined as a result of harder operations in oil exploitation.
