(MENAFN - Qatar News Agency) Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi confirmed on Monday the discovery of oil fields in Tabuk Region would enhance the Kingdom's prosperity.
The minister made his remarks, in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), during a tour he took in the area to inspect gas and oil works conducted by the ministry and Saudi Aramco company in the region.
The minister added that that the discovered oil fields will be developed to support domestic consumption of gas, adding that Madian Gas Field will be developed in 2013 to provide power plants with gas.
The minister affirmed on his ministry keenness to utilize all natural resources, petroleum, and gas from underneath to ensure sustained developments in all areas and governances.
For his part, Aramco President Khalid Al-Falih said in a statement that the recent discovery of gas in Tabuk is very much promising, noting that seven wells will be first established in the area.
