Colombia's oil output surpasses 1m bpd

(MENAFN) Colombian President, Juan Manuel Santos, stated that recently, his country's output of crude oil has exceeded 1 million barrels per day (bpd), reported Xinhua News. Santos said that the increase, one of his government's targets, is attributed to better transportation infrastructure, less pipeline attacks from guerrilla groups and the steady operation of oil fields. He added that Colombia plans to become a key producer in the international oil market. It is worth noting that Colombia targets a daily output of between 1.5 and 2 million barrels.
