Lexus Hybrid sales surpass 500,000 units

(MENAFN) Lexus announced that between 2005 and the end of November 2012, the automaker's global sales of Hybrid cars exceeded 500,000, reported Gulf Daily News. Sales of Hybrid cars account for nearly 25 percent of total Lexus sales at the current time. On the other hand, sales of Lexus cars grew from 26,000 vehicles in 2005 to 113,000 in 2012, boosted by line-up expansion and positive market response. The company said that worldwide sales of the RX, which makes up the largest share of Lexus Hybrid sales, reached 259,000 units in the 7-year period. Whereas the GS 450h, Lexus' second Hybrid model, posted cumulative sales of 32,000 units since its debut in 2006. Furthermore, in 2007, the company introduced the LS 600h, which was the first production car featuring a V8-powered full Hybrid powertrain, with its sales reaching around 29,000.
