(MENAFN - Arab News) The chief of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, Sheikh Abdul Latif Al-Asheikh, announced the commencement of establishing a department for women staff in the commission.
He said the presidency had signed 17 memorandums of cooperation with universities, another five with government bodies, and activated five research chairs funded by the commission. At the same time, he stressed the need for women employees.
In an open meeting at King Abdullah Cultural Center in Sakaka city, he said the commission had set up committees to handle new media through its vision to achieve its mission and objectives.
Al-Asheikh pointed to the different aspects of the Haia's work systems " including administrative and fieldwork " as well as the preventive and treatment measures according to professional standards that govern the commission powers.
He confirmed that the commission's visions and approaches are defined in compliance to Shariah controls to promote virtue and prevent vice without excessiveness or lagging, to achieve the leadership ambitions and the best interests of everyone.
As for shops specializing in women's needs only, Al-Asheikh said this decision was made following the directions and wishes of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to enable Saudi women to contribute to building their country instead of foreign labor, besides limiting harm and corruption to a minimum.
"The Ministry of Labor will be charged with this task, according to Shariah controls," said Al-Asheikh.
