(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Inflation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 2.
3 percent y/y in November compared to the same month of the past year, according to figures released by the Kuwait Central Statistical Office on Monday.
The office said in its monthly bulletin that the rate of inflation rose in Kuwait 0.3 percent in November compared to October, on monthly basis.
Prices of basic food rose four percent in November in contrast to the same month of 2011. Prices of meat, chicken and fish increased 0.7 percent, those of tea and coffee 0.1 percent, prices of fruits and vegetable 0.3 percent, other foods was down 0.6 percent and sugar down 1 percent.
Prices of oils were also up by 0.2 percent, that of cereals and bread dropped, 0.1 percent, while the prices of dairy products and eggs were stable.
The report carried on to say that prices of clothes and footwear rose 3.7 percent, educational and health services by 1.9 percent y/y.
The prices of other commodities and services increased 1.3 percent, y/y, beverages and tobacco by 3.9 percent, transports 2.6 percent, household commodities and services 1.9 percent.
