Debt crisis forces Greeks to look for job abroad


(MENAFN) Human Resources firm Adecco stated that the debt crisis drives half of Greeks to leave their country and search for job abroad, reported Xinhua News. The firm's latest survey covered 400 participants, of which 49 percent said that they have started to seek jobs outside the country. The survey also revealed that 4 out of 10 are unemployed, whereas 61 percent are working currently, however, they are afraid of being discharged. It noted that 4 out of 10 shift their focus abroad, as they cannot find work in the debt-ridden country, whereas 3 out of 10 seek jobs abroad due to recession and pessimism over the future. 70 percent of respondents said they would prefer to find a job within the EU, while 1 out of 2 is willing to move to developed countries outside Europe, including the US and Australia, and 1 in 10 prefers to work in developing economies of the Middle East. It is worth noting that the country's unemployment rate exceeded 25 percent in 2012.
