China to slash quarantine fees starting Jan 1


(MENAFN) China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) stated that starting January 1, 2013, the country will slash quarantine fees at customs, reported Xinhua News. The NDRC said that the move will assemble different charging items under one fee to make quarantine procedures simpler. It added that businesses will save USD825.40 million when the procedure goes into operation. Furthermore, the rate of quarantine fees on exports and imports will be reduced to 0.08 percent of goods' value, compared with the preceding 0.15 percent and 0.12 percent.
