Muscat Hills donates RO3,383 to Oman Cancer Association 

(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Muscat Hills donated RO3,382.6 to the Oman Cancer Association (OCA) on Saturday at the Muscat Hills Golf club. Yuthar al Rawahy, founder and president of OCA received the cheque from Sayyida Susan al Said.To raise the funds, Muscat Hills had organised a competition on Golf Day, November 1.It has been donating to OCA since 2011. ''This particular donation will go towards maintaining the mobile mammography unit, as it has been raised for breast cancer,'' said Yuthar al Rawahy. ''We require almost RO30,000 per year to run the mobile unit and RO20,000 for insurance. As a non-governmental organisation we are always grateful to whoever raises funds for us, but we are especially thankful to Sayyida Susan and Muscat Hills.''''We appreciate the work that is being carried out by OCA and hope this would be of help to them,'' said Sayyida Susan. ''It is really important to create awareness and get people to test themselves, especially in the interiors. This fund will also help to employ more people, and for the right cause. Alternative healing techniques for this disease should also be looked into.''According to Yuthar, chemotherapy is probably the worst thing that can happen to a person. ''I really hope there is an alternative for chemotherapy during my lifetime. Thus OCA hopes to help in the early diagnosis and prevention of cancer, especially in women.''
