(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Abidos Hotels became the latest hospitality brand to start operations in Dubai with the launch of Abidos Hotel Apartments in Dubailand.

The tower has a total built up area of 27,501 square meters and features 132 well-appointed apartments offering a choice of one, two and three bedroom units.

Emad Azmy, President of Al Shafar General Contracting, or ASGC, which has built the property, said the opening of this hotel marks the debut of Abidos brand in Dubai.

Azmy said Dubai is the largest business and tourist destination in the GCC. According to available industry statistics, the emirate has 577 hotels and 75,171 hotel apartments as well as a further 11,307 under construction. The demand in Dubai's hotels sector increased by 13.9 per cent in 2010 with supply growth of 11.6 per cent, and in 2011 demand increased 17.1 per cent with an 11.6 per cent supply increase.

"Owing to the ever increasing demand, Dubai continues to be a wide-open market for hotel developers. There are clear opportunities available and we are keen to take advantage of this lucrative sector," said Azmy

Abdulaziz Mohammed Saif bin Shafar, Vice President of ASGC, Patapou Uladzimir and Kirikov Yevhenii, were among dignitaries attending the opening event.

"The market is changing. Travellers are increasingly looking for spacious accommodations that offer excellent value for money with all necessary home comforts and facilities," said Azmy.

As expectations rise, convenient location, high speed Internet connection, widescreen televisions, 5-star service, the option to cook your meal, order room service or dine in a restaurant, full range of business and recreation facilities " all play a crucial role in choosing a hotel. The Abidos brand has been conceptualized to provide quality lifestyle at affordable rates, he pointed out.

Abidos Hotel Apartment, barely 15 minutes' drive from Dubai International Airport, enjoys easy access from Emirates Road and Dubai - Al Ain road. It overlooks the prestigious Dubailand Villas on one side and the bustling Dubai Academic City and Zayed University Academic City on the other.

Designed to provide residents with a comfortable and relaxed lifestyle, each apartment boasts an elegant living room with a private balcony, generously proportioned bedrooms, beautiful bathrooms and fully fitted kitchens. Rooms with a maid room can be provided upon request, and subject to availability.Abidos Hotels became the latest hospitality brand to start operations in Dubai with the launch of Abidos Hotel Apartments in Dubailand.
