(MENAFN - Arab News) The Upper Primary Boys Section of International Indian School-Dammam (IISD) yesterday organized a health run and cleanliness awareness campaign involving the cubs of scouts and guides group.
The cubs group from class III, IV and V participated in the campaign.
The program started with a march-past from the school ground to the municipal park track beside the IISD Boys Section. The track was newly built and the cubs group along with the teachers and section heads joined in the health run around the 500-meter track. The students formed different groups and participated in cleaning the track.
Huge quantity of plastic cans, papers, and trash materials were collected and the bricks and stones were removed to clean the track under the program. The health run conveyed messages like "Health is wealth" and "Every cell in my body vibrates with health and energy." The cleanliness awareness program conveyed the motto "Help others selflessly."
IISD Principal E.K. Mohammed Shaffe flagged off the health run. Organizing Scout Commissioner Col. J.A. Rocque, Section Head Mohammed Ismail, Registrar Gangesh Tiwari, section heads, including Dhanalaxmi Ramanujam, Mariyu Sagheer, Tasneem Razack, Najma Nakhat and other teachers also joined the health run.
Children were very happy and delivered the message of fitness. Headmaster Mohammed Ismail, and Shakila Premarajan and Rabia Nikath, both in charge of the cubs, and physical education teachers coordinated the program. The healthy and socially useful activity as part of the scouts and cubs program received all-round appreciation.
