(MENAFN) UAE's Etihad Airways' Chief Strategy and Planning Officer, Kevin Knight, announced that revenues of Etihad Cargo jumped 21.2 percent in November from a year ago, reported Emirates 24/7.

Knight said that the unit of the flag carrier Etihad Airways recorded revenues of USD65.8 million in the month, compared with USD54.3 million in 2011's same period.

Tonnage carried in the month grew by 18.2 percent to 32,633 tons from 27,628 tons.

He attributed the increase in both revenues and tonnage to strong sales out of Southern China and solid growth out of Europe and South East Asia.

It is worth noting that recently, Etihad Cargo has launched a twice-weekly freighter operation from US' Houston to Abu Dhabi.
