Oracle's Q2 earnings grow to USD2.6b


(MENAFN) California-based database software firm Oracle Corp. reported USD2.58 billion net profit during its fiscal second quarter ended November 30, up from a profit of USD2.19 billion a year earlier, the Business Journals reported. The company also said its quarterly revenue climbed to USD9.09 billion from USD8.79 billion a year ago. Quarterly revenue was helped by USD6.65 billion income from the firm's software division. This was driven by a 17 percent increase in software sales and cloud software subscriptions year-on-year to USD2.4 billion. Revenue from hardware systems, however, dropped to USD1.32 billion in the quarter from USD1.58 billion a year ago.
