(MENAFN - Emirates News Agency (WAM)) On the occasion of World Arabic Language Day, the "4th GCC Government Organization Website Global Competitiveness Strategy Development Conference" kicked off today in Dubai.
Attended by prominent CIOs, IT Managers and Directors, Web Developers, Designers, and solution providers, and professional hardware and software network engineers, the event aims to host an interactive and dynamic platform to elaborate on the website enhancement mechanisms and tools to promote government eServices and propagate the application of Arabic language in government organization website systems and service portals to enable the global competence of the language in the digital era whilst initiating a culture of Arabic Language Outreach to the world at large.
The conference features renowned speakers from across the region specializing in the regime of Information technology and web development.
The conference commenced with the presentation of Assem Hijazi, Localization Program Manager, Microsoft Middle East and North Africa, who elaborated on the role and contribution of Arabic Language- the language of 22 members of the UN and spoken by 422 million Arabs- in the conservation, evolution, and progress of human civilization and culture. He also elaborated on the necessity to invest more in the research and development of Arabic language in schools, universities, and other institutions to preserve and propagate its identity on a global level.
Mr. Ali Al Kamali, Managing Director of organisers Datamatix elucidated the development of GCC government organization website and the benchmarks and milestones that it achieved and transcended in governing search engine optimization and web friendliness and the various challenges and opportunities that it encountered in attaining global excellence in developing security standards in preventing intrusions and cyber crimes from maligning the websites and eServices.
