Saudi public sector boosts Q3 economic expansion

(MENAFN) Saudi Jadwa Investments stated that during the third quarter, the country's government sector enhanced economic growth by around 5.87 percent, reported Emirates 24/7. The firm said that the increase was lower than the growth recorded in 2011's same quarter. It noted that third-quarter growth was mainly boosted by the non-oil government sector, which jumped by 12.2 percent from last year's same period. It added that most of the public sector expansion resulted from a notable growth in government services that rose by 13.4 percent. It is worth noting that Saudi private sector posted a growth of 5.1 percent in the period, whereas the oil sector gained nearly 2.3 percent.
