Tap Oil drilling Thailand oil well


(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - Australia) Tap Oil (ASX: TAP) is currently participating in the drilling of an offshore well in Thailand targeting 5 million barrels of oil. Pathum-1, the third and final well in the company's 2012 exploration drilling campaign, is being drilled in shallow water and has a planned total depth of about 2,642 metres. Current depth is about 1,890 metres. The well will test the petroleum potential of the fluvial section as the primary target in the southern Sattakut Basin and is a commitment well for the G3/48 concession. Tap has a 30% indirect interest in G3/48 while operator Pearl Oil holds 60%.
