UK's Oct construction output declines 5.1%


(MENAFN) UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS) announced that the country's construction production in October fell 5.1 percent on annual basis, reported Xinhua News. The agency said that the drop, the lowest since February, is compared with a decrease of 13.2 percent in September. It added that on a monthly basis, output grew 8.3 percent, whereas in the period between August and October, production went up by 0.7 percent from the previous 3-month period. When compared with 2011's same period, construction output declined by 9.7 percent in the August-October period, with only the public housing repair and maintenance sector showing a gain of 4.7 percent.
