UAE- Gama riding high with FBO services

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Gama Aviation plans more investment at Sharjah International Airport to enhance customer experience with fixed-base operation, or FBO, facilities next year, a top official said. In just nine months since the company signed an exclusive concession agreement for the provision of FBO services at Sharjah Airport, the company recorded a significant growth in business and general aviation movements. "We recorded amazing double-digit growth every month since the establishment of the Sharjah FBO facility in February this year," Gama Aviation managing director for Middle East and Asia Dave Edwards told Khaleej Times at the Middle East Business Aviation, or Meba, show in Dubai. The UK-based company moved timely to Sharjah as customers now reognise the limitations of Dubai International Airport in the wake of busy schedules with commercial airlines. "From the moment you touch down at Gama's Sharjah FBO, you will know that time is working for you. On average, six minutes after you land you'll be in your car and on your way. Our infrastructure lends itself to a quick and efficient service meaning you'll be productive before others will have even picked up their bags," Edwards said. Gama's Sharjah FBO has swiftly established itself as a stress-free gateway for business and private visitors to Sharjah, Dubai, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah, as well as a prime technical stop for business jet operators transiting from east to west. Recalling the 2012 achievements in the Middle East, he said the company opened its FBO at Sharjah Airport, offices in Jeddah and a base in Abu Dhabi in addition to a UAE GCAA CAR 145 approval. Gama Aviation is significantly expanding both the number and diversity of its managed and charter aircraft fleet. Over the course of the past two months, Gama has added an additional Embraer Legacy 600 and a Challenger 604 to its UAE charter fleet and an Embraer Legacy 650, Hawker 800XP and VIP Boeing 737 to its growing management fleet in the region. "To enter our fourth year of operations in the Middle East on such a positive note is very rewarding. The market in the region for business aviation remains positive but slow, so it's pleasing to see that the hard work and customer service ethic of our entire team here at Gama is producing strong results and gaining significant traction," Edwards said. Gama is a global business aviation services organisation, founded in 1983 in the UK. The Gama Group is headquartered at Farnborough Airport in the UK, with its American headquarters in Stratford, Connecticut. Its Middle East and North Africa headquarters is in Sharjah while its Asian hub is in Hong Kong.
