UAE- Dewa organises optimisation conference


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) organised the second Annual Process Optimisation Conference 2012 at The Address Downtown Dubai, to discuss ways to improve processes to strengthen customer engagement and to boost workplace productivity. The Conference is in line with the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote sustainable development in the emirate of Dubai. The conference was attended by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dewa, Ahmed Butti Al Muhairabi, Secretary General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy , Nasser Lootah, Executive Vice-President for Generation at Dewa, Yousef Jebril, Executive Vice President of Power and Water Planning at Dewa, Waleed Salman, Executive Vice-President of Strategy and Business Development at Dewa, Dr Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice-President, Business Support at Dewa , Abdullah Al Hajri, Executive Vice-President, Customer Services at Dewa, decision makers, experts and senior representatives of Governmental departments and the private sector. South Korean delegates visit Palm Jumeirah A delegation from the Prime Minister's office in South Korea toured Nakheel's Palm Jumeirah as part of an official visit to Dubai. The Secretariat of the Council on Jeju Development Policy was welcomed to Nakheel's Dubai headquarters by Chairman Ali Rashid Lootah. The group discussed Nakheel's current and planned projects before touring The Palm. The delegation is visiting Dubai to learn about the emirate's key projects - in particular Palm Jumeirah - which will help in the planning of its strategies to promote the Jeju Free International City development in South Korea. Drake's JV wins SR2.7b Saudi job Dubai's Drake & Scull International, in which Goldman Sachs bought warrants worth $40 million, said its joint venture with Arabian Construction Co won a new contract in Saudi Arabia valued at 2.7 billion riyals ($719.96 million). The contract is to build the third phase of the Jabal Omar development in the holy city of Makkah, Drake said in a statement on Dubai's bourse. The company, which specialises in mechanical, engineering and plumbing operations, said its share will be 50 per cent of the overall value of the contract. The third phase of the Jabal Omar scheme will involve the construction of four hotel towers with a total built up area of 400,000 square metres. The Towers will also include a five-star and three-star hotel.
