SC dissolves Suddle Commission

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Supreme Court has ordered that the Shoaib Suddle Commission be dissolved. The one-man commission was formed to probe the Arsalan Iftikhar case involving allegations of blackmail and extortion levelled by property tycoon Malik Riaz against Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry's son. A two-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Jawaad S. Khwaja heard the Arsalan Iftikhar case in which the commission's report was presented. The court ordered that the findings of the report be made public. The Supreme Court also ordered that there was no need to probe this case any further as it was an issue between two individuals and they could take up the matter at any forum. Speaking to the media, Zahid Bukhari, the counsel for Malik Riaz, said his client had raised reservations regarding the commission. According to Bukhari, the commission will no longer be allowed to conduct any investigation. Bukhari maintained that the allegations against Arsalan Iftikhar levelled by Malik Riaz were accurate.
