(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) and Tasjeel have together launched a campaign titled "Save Lives with Car Fire Extinguisher" to raise awareness about the importance of keeping fire extinguishers in cars.
The drive is aimed at protecting individuals and their families from the various potential dangers of failing to keep fire fighting kits in their cars.
The campaign will take place at the Global Village on December 5, JBR on December 13, Dubai Mall on January 10, Mall of the Emirates on January 31st, and Mirdif City Centre on February 7.
Sponsored by NAFFCO and Michelin Tyres, the three-month campaign was launched during a press conference held at Tasjeel's main office in the presence of Colonel Salim Al Moqarrab, Assistant General Manager of DCD for Protection and Prevention, Nawwaf Al Ahmed, Operations Manager at Tasjeel, Eng. Khalid Al Khateeb, CEO of Naffco, and a number of prominent personalities, guests, and media representatives.
Commenting on the occasion, Major-General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director-General, UAE Civil Defence said: "The recent statistics on car accidents stressed the need of having fire extinguishers in cars because of their importance in lessening incidents and controlling them before damage is exacerbated. Running this type of campaigns is vitally important to creating general awareness."
