Jordan's Saraya Abdali awards Dubai Construction USD220m contract


(MENAFN) Jordanian developer Saraya Abdali has awarded Dubai Construction Company a USD200 million contract to construct a mixed-use tower in Amman, the Construction Week reported. The 36-storey tower will contain the first five-star W Hotel in Jordan, which will have 280 rooms and 42 serviced apartments. The tower, designed by architectural practice Perkins & Will, will sit on top of an eight-level podium containing high-end retail units, office space and hotel facilities. Civil works for the project are expected to start in the first half of 2015 and the project has an expected completion date of end-2015, with the hotel due to open in 2016.
