(MENAFN - Emirates News Agency (WAM)) As part of a continuing partnership, Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] and Khalifa University recently hosted an Innovation Summit for local college students and faculty members to encourage interest and collaboration in the field of engineering.

The Summit began with remarks by Khalifa University President Dr. Tod A. Laursen. He welcomed Lockheed Martin and highlighted the University's continuing commitment to advanced engineering and research.

"I would like to thank Lockheed Martin for helping us put on this exciting event," said Dr. Laursen. "Events like these add a very important dynamic to our students' education, giving them first-hand experience with industry, and industry leaders. Events like this also offer our faculty a wealth of opportunities for research, which is an important part of Khalifa University's mandate. We look forward to co-hosting more events with Lockheed Martin in the future, and to working with them on a wealth of different projects." "Lockheed Martin is honored to collaborate with Khalifa University to educate and inspire students in the field of engineering," said Nabil Azar, Director of Advanced Programs and Business Development for Lockheed Martin. "Our engineers are passionate about their work, and this was a great opportunity to share that passion and excitement with the future of our workforce."
