(MENAFN - Arab Times) An Ethiopian housemaid committed suicide by hanging herself with a rope tied to the ceiling of her room at the sponsor's residence, reports Al-Nahar daily.
Security sources said sponsor of the deceased woman had notified the Operations Room about the incident and Criminal Evidences Men accompanied the rescue team to the scene, but reasons for the suicide remain mysterious, so the remains have since been referred to forensics for autopsy.
Meanwhile, A 33-year-old Egyptian expatriate died when he fell from a building under construction in Mahboula.
Reportedly, when securitymen received information about the accident, they rushed to the location with paramedics and discovered he had succumbed to serious injuries. They referred the corpse to Forensics Department. A case was registered.
In another incident, a Sri Lankan lodged a complaint at Taima Police Station against two unidentified persons he accused of stealing his wallet which contained KD 25 and his civil ID, reports Al-Shahid daily.
According to the complainant, he was walking in an undisclosed location when the suspects blocked his way, threatened to hurt him and took his wallet by force. He provided police with a detailed description of the thieves.
A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to arrest the culprits.
And, an elderly Syrian expatriate lodged a complaint at Jahra police station against his son, accusing the latter of attacking him and stealing KD 400 from his safe in the house, reports Al-Rai daily.
The victim informed securitymen that when his son requested some money to spend for an outing with his friends, he refused and advised his son against mingling with bad company. However, this infuriated his son and he hit his father several times.
He then stole KD 400 from the safe in the house and fled from the house.
A case was registered against the son and securitymen are planning to summon him to the police station for investigations.
