(MENAFN) Jebel Ali Free Zone's (Jafza) Deputy CEO, Ibrahim Al Janahi, stated that in 2012, China trade through Jafza would rise by 10 percent from 2011, to exceed USD10.88 billion, reported Emirates 24/7.

Al Janahi said that at the end of the third quarter, the number of Chinese firms in Jafza increased to 130 from 64 companies in 2007.

He noted that in 2012, the number of new Chinese firms joining Jafza is forecasted to grow notably due to higher interest of Chinese businesses in the Middle East region for its non-oil exports.

Moreover, around a quarter of China's daily oil needs comes from the region's oil producers.

It is worth noting that several multi-national companies have base in Jafza, including Sinopec Group, Sinochem International, China National Petroleum Corp., CSCEC, and China Railway Engineering Middle East.
