Food and Hotel Oman expo opens 

(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The seventh Food and Hotel Oman expo opened at the Oman International Exhibition Centre on Monday. More than 60 companies worldwide are taking part in the three-day exhibition organised by Omanexpo.It is said to be the only international event in Oman focusing on the food and hospitality sector and showcasing related local and international products, services, equipment and technologies.Melissa Daleja, marketing and communications manager of Omanexpo said, ''Since 2005, this is the exhibition where companies and people related to the food and hospitality industry take part to showcase their latest innovations and offers.''Stalls at the exhibition are showcasing foodstuffs such as  sauces, cooking oil, fish and other associated products such as crockery and catering services.Melissa added that over the last few years, the number of participants has been increasing steadily, with more and more Omani companies coming forward to take part in the event.This year's event will also accord special attention to Omani-products displayed by local companies which are part of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates. The expo is also expected to showcase skills and expertise of the country's renowned chefs from Oman Chef's Guild, who will organise various culinary activities.Basma al Mazrooui, stall manager at the Nespresso Coffee booth, said, ''A Swiss company, Nespresso is slowly and steadily building its reputation in the Omani market. We make our own machines that are fast and effective, and make the best coffee. We plan to bring our first boutique at the Royal Opera House by next year.''In addition to Oman, companies from Germany, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Turkey, UAE, Pakistan, Singapore and Italy,  are also taking part in the event.The expo is open from 11am to 7pm till December 5.
