Kuwait- Decision to hike govt houses rent will benefit 2,133 families


(MENAFN- Arab Times) About 2,133 families receiving social support will benefit from the most recent decision of Cabinet to increase the rent for government houses from KD 20 to KD 50, reports Al-Dar daily. Reliable sources from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor have said the increment is valued at KD 64,000 per month and KD 767,880,000 per annum, noting the category of citizens receiving social aid include patients, the elderly, students, and handicapped, in addition to those who are unable to work, orphans, widows, divorced women, the families of prisoners, and Minors Affairs. Sources pointed out that around 8,000 divorced women who are unemployed are benefiting from family care, besides the others working and receiving salaries less than KD 680.
