(MENAFN - Arab News) Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed officially inaugurated the Saudi Water & Power Forum & Exhibition (SWPF) yesterday at Jeddah Hilton. SWPF is endorsed by the Saudi Ministry of Water & Electricity and supported by Moya Busnak.
"SWPF will take a fresh look at the opportunities for participation and will focus on how we can work together to meet growing demand for more efficient use and sustainable water and power," said Abdullah Al Hussayen, minister of water & electricity.
Prince Mishaal presented the prestigious SWPF Award for Innovation and the Marafiq Award for Sustainability. The opening ceremony concluded with a gala dinner hosted by SWPF principal sponsor ACWA Power.
Prominent speakers at the forum that will run up to Tuesday will include Christopher Gasson, publisher of Global Water Intelligence; Naf Al-Abbadi, director general of Saudi Energy Efficiency Center; Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-Shaikh, deputy governor for Planning & Development, SWCC; Thamer Al-Sharhan, president & CEO of Marafiq; Fahad Al-Hussain, CEO of Taqnia; Paddy Padmanathan, president & CEO of ACWA Power; Olivier Brousse, CEO of Saur and Yasser Joharji, managing director of Unilever KSA.
