(MENAFN Press) Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Monday, December 3rd 2012
eHosting DataFort(eHDF), the region's leading managed IT services provider and a member of TECOM Investments, has been appointed to host VoiceTrust's Digital Payment Platform in Dubai to provide 24/7 service availability and facilitate the management of a large volume of transactions on a regional and global level.
VoiceTrust is a global provider of digital payments and voice biometric solutions and technologies operating across the Americas, Europe and South Asia, Middle East and Africa.
The Middle East operation was established in 2009 with Dubai serving as a software development, sales and professional service centre. The company's disinclination to invest in huge capital and human resources to host its service in the region served as a key influencer to opt for a managed service provider such as eHDF. Additionally, VoiceTrust was looking for an entity that brings the right infrastructure and support. Hostingbeing a specialized mandate that requires significant investment and staff resources, VoiceTrust opted for eHDFto cut costs and offload the most critical monitoring operations.
eHosting DataFort was selected primarily for the team's technical expertise, close proximity to VoiceTrust's regional office, infrastructure capabilities, as well as its maturity of monitoring and supporting procedures that assure 99.99 per cent service availability.
Yasser Zeineldin, CEO at eHosting DataFort, said: "As the market gets more competitive in the digital and mobile payments segment, players in that field are deploying a variety of technologies and business models to be best aligned with market conditions in which they operate. Such market conditions typically vary from one region to another. In order to meet the demand of a large and diverse customer base, global enterprises scale up their services and solutions, and at the same time bring it closer to their regional audience."
The appointment comes at a time when the global mobile payment transactions market is expected to exceed US171.5 billion this year, according to a report from Gartner. The number of mobile payment users is set to reach 212.2 million in 2012, up from 160.5 million in 2011. In order to capture a large share of this growth, VoiceTrust is looking towards securing its platform against downtime.
Dr. Tariq Habib, Group CEO, VoiceTrust, said: "VoiceTrust follows a strategy of rolling out supporting IT infrastructure in a way most suited to the target markets we serve. This naturally leads to a mix of environments in order to best meet the needs of each market and our customers. For instance, in the US we use a cloud-based model in collaboration with service providers, which has worked well for us. Taking on from there, we felt the practice would be beneficial to us in the UAE as we are starting out with greenfield operations."
With world-class data centres, resilient and scalable infrastructure as well as round-the-clock managed operations, eHosting DataForthas established itself as a market leader in hosting and managed IT services. eHosting DataFort has been recognized for its innovative use of new technology in 2009, Best ColocationFacility in 2010 & 2011, and was also awarded the region's 'Best Managed Service Provider of the Year' in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
