UAE- Man held for stealing car batteries


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Sharjah Police on Thursday arrested a 27-year-old Bangladeshi national who was involved in stealing batteries from parked cars in various industrial areas in Sharjah. A top official from the CID department said the accused identified as BBL was arrested on charges of theft and causing damage to others' properties. He added that several complaints about the thefts had been received at the Sharjah industrial area police station. Based on the information obtained, the police formed a team to search for the suspect and arrest him red-handed. The team thus managed to arrest the suspect while he was found walking around cars in an industrial area. Once caught, the suspect confessed that he stole batteries from eight cars with the help of a compatriot who is at large. Upon raiding his residence, the police recovered some of the batteries and tools used in the theft. The case has been referred to the public persecution.
