Ericsson files lawsuit against Samsung


(MENAFN) Sweden's LM Ericsson stated that it has filed a lawsuit against Samsung Electronics Co. in the US for patent infringement, reported AP. The wireless equipment maker said that the move comes as two years of talks between the two parties failed to convince the South Korean firm to sign a license deal with Ericsson. The company added that the lawsuit is related to technology it developed and is important to a number of telecommunications and networking standards in Samsung's products. According to Ericsson, the technology can be used by other firms in exchange for a fee.
