Three sports bodies go to polls today 

(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Mutassim al Zadjali, the incumbent chairman of the Oman Tennis Association (OTA), will take on the association's former chief Majeed Alasfoor in the contest for a fresh term for the top post at the OTA's elections on Tuesday, which will also witness polls of two other sports bodies in the sultanate.A total of 21 clubs will vote for a new OTA chairman, vice-chairman, general-secretary, treasurer and five board members for the 2012-2016 term.Also, the Oman Hockey Association and the Oman Handball Association will go to polls on the same day.For the hockey association's chairmanship, Mahfooz Ali al Juma, Abdullah al Farsi and Khalifa Obaid al Salami are contesting the elections, which will feature 24 clubs.Incumbent Said al Busaidy, Nasser al Alawi and Sultan al Hosni are involved in a three-way fight for the chairman's post of the handball body, involving 31 clubs.
