The country's top economic planning agency said that in the period, oil production reached 169.56 million tons, whereas it rose by 7.9 percent in October alone to 17.82 million tons.

In the 10-month period, crude oil consumption grew 3 percent to 207.8 million tons, with gasoline consumption rising 7 percent and diesel consumption up 0.5 percent.

The agency noted that the volume of processed crude oil went up 1.3 percent from last year's same period to 341.37 million tons.

It is worth noting that in October, China consumed 20.93 million tons of crude oil, a 1.3-percent drop from 2011.
