Kuwait- Syrian caught with 20,000 drug pills at airport


(MENAFN- Arab Times) A Syrian expatriate was arrested recently at Kuwait International Airport for attempting to smuggle 20,000 narcotic pills into the country, reports Al-Rai daily. Reportedly, customs officers at Kuwait International Airport suspected a consignment that arrived from an Arab country and waited for the recipient for several days. Eventually, after the suspect arrived to receive the consignment, they checked the contents and found the narcotic pills hidden within the frames of paintings. He was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him. Drugs in cigarette: An Egyptian expatriate was arrested recently for possession of a piece of hashish and a 'Tremadol' pill which he hid inside a cigarette pack. He was referred to the Directorate General for Drug Control for necessary legal action against him. Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen was arrested recently in Khaitan for his involvement in a kidnap case.
