Kuwait- Minors block roads, pelt motorists

(MENAFN- Arab Times) Security operatives from Jahra Command referred six minors, including a 10- year old boy to Juvenile Prosecution for blocking access roads to Qasr, Oyoun, Taima and Waha areas and pelting motorists who drove by with stones. Also, the officers in the course of the campaign arrested five other youths and impounded their vehicles for stunting. Majority of the 'stuntmen' normally steal cars from their relatives or other people to perform the illegitimate act. Jahra Security Chief Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah cautions parents against allowing their wards the free hands to play around, and noted that stunting exposes the youths and other road users to danger. Meanwhile, three juveniles suffered various degrees of burns in their hands, neck and face when fire broke out in their car as they approached a security checkpoint on Jelaia desert area. Acting on information, firefighters moved in quickly to extinguish the fire, as paramedics rushed the injured juveniles to Al-Adan Hospital for medical attention. In another incident, a heavy vehicle overturned on Fourth Ring Road near Andalous recently, causing a huge traffic jam for almost two hours. Traffic officers parked their vehicles behind the heavy vehicle to prevent accidents. Eventually, they took nearly two hours to shift the vehicle from the road and organize the traffic.
