South Korea, Japan Agree to Boost Economic Ties

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) The finance ministers of South Korea and Japan agreed Saturday to boost economic ties as both countries try to improve relations strained by a territorial dispute. 'We shared views on the need for stronger economic ties,' Bahk Jae Wan told reporters after talks with his Japanese counterpart Koriki Jojima in Gwacheon, south of Seoul. According to dpa, the meeting, which was postponed from August, suggests both countries are working to mend ties after a territorial dispute led to the cancellation of an agreement to extend of a currency swap deal.
