(MENAFN - Arab Times) The General Secretary of Government Manpower and Restructuring Program (GMRP) Fawzi Al-Majdali disclosed some articles related to the monthly allowances for students have been amended due to the rising cost of living.

He explained the monthly allowance for married students has been increased from KD 250 to KD 350 and bachelors KD 100 to KD 200, in an attempt to ease their burdens and encourage them to complete their studies in the universities or other institutions.

He revealed that the students will continue to receive their monthly allowances after graduation until they get jobs in the government or private sector.

He explained the Council of Ministers' Decision Number 303 has shifted the responsibility of disbursing allowances to the students from Ministry of Finance to GMRP, in line with conditions and regulations set by the concerned authorities.

He explained a meeting of the officials of Kuwait University and PAAET discussed the issue, and he had asked the officials during the meeting to provide necessary information about the students related to their civil ID, social status and date of graduation, starting from January 1, 2012 to identify those who have been recruited while estimating the sum for this venture.
