Kuwait- Phone call from wife prompts Indian man to commit suicide


(MENAFN- Arab Times) An Indian expatriate committed suicide recently in his room in Hassawi by hanging himself from the ceiling with a piece of cloth. Reportedly, when the victim's roommate informed the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior about the suicide, securitymen rushed to the location and found the corpse hanging from the ceiling. Preliminary investigations with the roommate indicated that the victim had received a phone call from his wife regarding a family problem 30 minutes before the incident. The corpse was referred to the Forensics. A case was registered for further investigations. Meanwhile, an Ethiopian housemaid tried to commit suicide by consuming large number of pills inside her sponsor's house in Qas'r. Reportedly, when her sponsor found her lying unconscious in her room with some pills next to her, she immediately contacted the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior. Paramedics rushed to the location and referred the housemaid to Jahra Hospital for treatment while securitymen summoned the sponsor to the police station for interrogations. A case of suicide attempt was registered against the housemaid. In another development, a 17-year-old teenager was arrested recently for attempting to steal his neighbor's motorbike in Firdous. According to security sources, when a housemaid saw the youth entering his neighbor's house to steal the motorbike, she immediately informed her sponsor who contacted the police station of the area. Securitymen rushed to the location and caught him red-handed in the act. He was arrested and referred to Juvenile Prosecution for necessary legal action against him.
