(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A hotel porter, who allegedly inadvertently touched a woman hotel guest while in her room, was charged with molestation in the Court of First Instance on Thursday.
According to prosecution records, the 30-year-old Bangladeshi porter grabbed the hand of the tourist, an American, and put his hand around her neck after he moved her baggage in the room.
The tourist, 37, said in the prosecution investigation that the incident happened at around 10.30pm in August. She had checked in at a hotel in Rashidiya.
The defendant, who is currently on provisional detention, carried her baggage and took it to a room and there he allegedly touched her when they were alone. She told the prosecutor that the accused grabbed her hand and put his hand around her neck but he moved away when she yelled at him.
He admitted in the police and prosecution investigation that he touched the woman.
