Singapore's Oct inflation slows to 4%


(MENAFN) Singapore's Department of Statistics announced that last month's consumer price inflation (CPI) slowed to 4 percent, down from 4.7 percent in September, reported Xinhua News. In October, the private road transport cost gained 8.3 percent, compared with 10.8 percent in September, moreover, the accommodation cost inflation fell to 6.8 percent, from 7.7 percent. Figures showed that October's food inflation dipped to 1.7 percent from 2.1 percent, whereas services inflation rose to 3.1 percent up from 3 percent. It is worth noting that the Monetary Authority of Singapore's (MAS) core inflation, which excludes accommodation and private road transport costs, eased to 2.2 percent, from 2.4 percent a month earlier.
