Spain plans to increase pensions

(MENAFN) Spain's Social Security Secretary Tomas Burgos unveiled plans to increase pensions in line with current legislation, Reuters reported. Burgos said the legislation states that retirement payments must be increased at the same rate as inflation each year. The government has already promised to raise pensions by at least one percent for 2013. It also said it will decide whether to hike further, and in line with consumer prices, once November inflation data is published.
