(MENAFN) UK's Halfords, the bicycles-to-car-parts group, stated that profits dived 23 percent in the first half to USD66.7 million, from USD86.99 million a year ago, reported Gulf News.

The company said that sales in the period gained 0.4 percent to USD724.59 million.

However, in the first quarter, sales at stores open over a year declined 5.6 percent, whereas in the second quarter, sales grew 5.6 percent.

The firm's second-half planning assumptions remained the same and it kept its full-year profit outlook of between USD104.96 million and USD111.32 million.

It is worth noting that Halfords trades from over 460 Halfords stores in the UK and Ireland, and more than 260 Autocentres.
