Solimar Energy starts long term production testing at California oil well

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - Australia) Solimar Energy (ASX: SGY) has started long term primary production testing at its wholly-owned Kreyenhagen shallow oil field in the San Joaquin Basin, California. Data from the 4-33 well that had successfully flowed oil at an unstimulated rate of up to 15 barrels per day has also confirmed that it is producing from a downdip zone of lighter oil that has not previously been produced. This offers the potential for multiple additional locations along strike and for potential exploitation by higher flow rate deviated or horizontal wells. Production from 4-33 had led Solimar to increase Contingent Recoverable Resources at the field by 3,101% to 4.15 million barrels of oil. The company is also planning to production test the target Temblor Sandstone in a third well, 2-32, that is currently suspended awarding re-entry, by the end of this year. Further increases in Contingent Resource in the field are expected with the drilling of appraisal wells.
